The Magnolia Woodturners August 2011 meeting will be on the 20h of the month. That is this coming Saturday.
Sammy Long will be demonstrating Green Woodturning form log to finished bowl
There will be a brief business meeting prior to the demo.
Michael Frazier is asking for a volunteer to take over the website as he no longer has the time effectively keep it updated.
This will be our fouth meeting at the COPIAH-LINCOLN COMMUNITY COLLEGE SIMPSON COUNTY CENTER, 151 Co-Lin Drive, Mendenhall, Mississippi 39114. “If you don’t use Google or one of those types of sites: This new place is on the East side of US 49, (but cannot be seen from the highway) between Mendenhall and Magee. If you are driving south, you will see this sign on the right of US 49 and that is when you turn left (East) into the driveway. If you see Simpson Legion Lake on your left, then you have passed it. If you are driving north and pass the lake, look for the complementary sign showing you to take the next right.”
  
Magnolia Woodturners, a Mississippi Chapter of the American Association of Woodturners was chartered July 20, 1996 for individuals interested in woodturning. The primary purpose of the Magnolia Woodturners Inc. is consistent with the fundamental purposes of the American Association of Woodturners, to provide information, education, and organization of those interested in turning wood.
In addition, Magnolia Woodturners Inc. purposes are to:
1. Provide a meeting location for woodturners...maps and directions.....
2. Share ideas regarding woodturning, including lathes, tools, turning materials, turning techniques and designing of turned objects
3. Exchange wood and other woodturning materials.
4. Inform members about activities of interest to woodturners.
5. Promote woodturning as an art form and craft.
